Enrique Wilson Martes (born July 27, 1973 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) is a Major League Baseball infielder. He bats switch-hitter and throws right-handed. In his eight-season career, Wilson has played with the Cleveland Indians (1997-2000), Pittsburgh Pirates (2000-01), New York Yankees (2001-04), and with the Chicago Cubs (2005).
Versatile, but not valuable anywhere he plays, Wilson has had a rather uneventful career, mostly as a backup at second base, third and shortstop, playing hitters well, and has a strong arm. Wilson has some pop in his bat, and he will run ocassionally, but he is smart enough not to try to steal very often.
Wilson is a career .246 hitter with 22 home runs and 141 RBI in 540 games. He was signed by the Baltimore Orioles to a minor-league contract before the 2005 season.
