Michele Van Gorp (born May 10, 1977 in Warren, Michigan) is a professional basketball player in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), most recently with the Minnesota Lynx. She is notable as being the league’s only admitted lesbian since the retirement of Sue Wicks.
After attending high school in Clinton Charter Township, Michigan, Van Gorp played collegiate basketball at Purdue University during her freshman and sophomore years, but transferred to Duke University for her junior and senior years.
She missed most of the 2004 season due to stress fracture in the navicular bone of her left foot that required surgery.
She was expected to return for the current (2005) season but is apparently still too injured.
She lives with her spouse Kayleen in Vermont.
